Weddings at Camarillo United Methodist Church

Camarillo United Methodist Church (CUMC) is a beautiful place to hold your wedding.
The Sanctuary features a beautiful hand-crafted cross, floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows,
a pipe organ, and a center aisle for the bridal party's entrance and exit.
We are blessed with a wonderful musician available to play
the organ and/or piano for your ceremony if desired.

If you choose pre-recorded music, our media team will assist you with that.
Keep in mind, music should be appropriate for the ceremony and the solemnity of the occasion.
Please discuss music choices with the pastor or the wedding coordinators.
The Sanctuary has a seating capacity of up to 250 guests.

Outdoor Weddings

If you choose to have an outdoor wedding, CUMC offers a
beautiful space called Friendship Garden.

The Wedding Process

Your ceremony will be in a beautiful Christian setting to help
set the tone for a meaningful event.

Your wedding day is such an important day in your life,
we want to help make it memorable, joyous,
and personalized to reflect who you are as a couple.
Weddings are available to church members and non-members.

Once you have spoken to the church office,
please complete the application and return it to the church office. When your date is approved, you will need to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve the date and time for your wedding. The deposit will be applied to the 'Package Fee'.

Meetings with the Pastor

You will have three meetings with the Pastor. At the first appointment,
the Pastor will discuss your ideas and wishes for their ceremony.

The Pastor wants to build a relationship with you so the wedding ceremony will be meaningful and personal. Guidelines and requirements will also be discussed.

At the second appointment the pastor will help guide you through the wedding ceremony. You will be reminded about the required State of California marriage license.
You will need to make an appointment for the Marriage License at Ventura County Clerk's office in Ventura or Thousand Oaks. You can contact the at 805-654-2263

The third appointment will be the wedding rehearsal.
You must bring your Marriage License to the rehearsal.

The Pastor will keep it in the church office to ensure it is available on the wedding day.
Once the license has been signed on your wedding day, it will be sent to the
Ventura County Clerk by Camarillo United Methodist Church.

Meetings with the Wedding Coordinators

All weddings are hosted by the Wedding Coordinators. The coordinators will meet with you three times to discuss and plan details of your wedding.

In the first meeting with the wedding coordinators, you can let them know what your basic wedding plans are including how many people will be in your wedding party, what type of music you want, and what is most important on your wedding day,
The coordinators will help you set up a tentative timeline for your wedding day.

In the second meeting, approximately one month prior to your wedding day,
you and the coordinators will finalize your wedding plans.

The third meeting will be the one hour rehearsal which is usually the day before the wedding. The coordinators will be with you as the Pastor leads you through the wedding rehearsal.

On your wedding day, the coordinators will be available 2 hours prior to the start of your wedding, will help during the ceremony and be available 30 minutes after the ceremony to allow time for photographs, signing of the wedding license, and to allow time for the wedding party to clean up all decor and supplies in the Sanctuary and any other areas utilized. The coordinators are there to help ensure that your special day will run as smoothly as possible.

Photography / Videography

There are many beautiful areas on the campus for photo opportunities, including Friendship Garden.
During the wedding ceremony, your photographer must use the predetermined locations for
photographs so there is no disruption to the ceremony.

Flash photography is not permitted during the ceremony; therefore, taking formal
photographs before or after the ceremony is suggested.

We have a media team on staff to help with videotaping
your ceremony - with an added charge.

If you plan to use an outside videographer, please discuss this with the
wedding coordinators prior to the wedding day.

Wedding Party Send-off

For the safety of your wedding party and guests, no rice, birdseed or confetti may be thrown on church premises. Your guests are welcome to use bubbles or ribbon wands for your send off once outside the Sanctuary.

Prices for a Wedding Ceremony at CUMC

CUMC Wedding Package Fee: $1,000
Includes: use of Sanctuary or Friendship Garden,
Pastor, Wedding Coordinators and Media Team.
On your special day, the wedding party will have
 use of two private rooms.  

Along with the final payment of church fees,
a security deposit of $250 is due one month prior
to the ceremony.

If there is no damage to the facilities, or any added charges, the security deposit will be returned approximately two weeks after the wedding.

You will have the church facilities and coordinators for a total of 2.5 hours. Any time over that will be charged $50 per hour and will be taken out of the security deposit.

Organist/pianist $300
Vocal/instrumental Soloist $150 and up
Playing of video or slideshow $50
Playing prerecorded music $50
Video recording of wedding ceremony $100

All church fees and security deposit must be paid in full at least one month prior to the ceremony.

Receptions at Camarillo United Methodist Church

Brooks Hall is our reception space and can accommodate up to 160 guests.

There is a beautiful patio space to enjoy as well.

Having a reception at CUMC is convenient for both the wedding party and guests.
Everything here - the wedding ceremony and reception in one location.
All receptions are hosted by the Reception Coordinator.

The coordinator will be available on-site two hours prior to the event to direct all
decorations, be available to guide your service personnel (caterers, baker, florist, etc.)
and ensure timely preparation of your event.

CUMC Reception Price: $800
Includes: Brooks Hall, Reception Coordinator, kitchen, buffet tables,

20 - 6' diameter tables and 8 chairs per table.
The tables will be arranged at the couple’s direction.
This pricing is for two hours of set up, a three hour reception and

30 minutes for clean up.

Any time over the 5.5 hours will be charged $50 per hour
and will be taken out of the security deposit.
The wedding party is responsible for providing all food through approved caterers only,
nonalcoholic beverages, and all dinnerware needed for their guests, including table covers and decorations.
Punch bowls are available for your use - please do not serve red punch.

a security deposit of $250 is due one month prior to the reception.
If there is no damage to the facilities, or any added charges, the security deposit
will be returned approximately two weeks after the reception.
CUMC is a smoke-free and alcohol free campus/grounds.
