Kristi VanKeersbilck

Crescendo Director / Handbells and Choir Chimes Instructor

Kristi VanKeersbilck has been the Director of Handbells at Camarillo UMC for 18 years. She currently directs five bell choirs, ranging in age from 4-years-old to adults, who perform regularly in church, in the community, and at our annual spring Bell Choir Concert. Kristi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University and is a member of the Handbell Musicians of America. She formerly worked as a music therapist at Camarillo State Hospital and Ventura County Behavioral Health. She has many years of experience teaching preschool music groups, flute lessons, recorder classes, and handbell choirs. Her greatest joy is sharing her love of music with others.

Tyler Carlisle

Singing Instructor

Tyler Carlisle is a local of Camarillo having moved to California a few years back.  Music in general has been his passion as long as he can remember.  Whether it be conducting choirs, teaching/playing piano, or having some fun on the organ, Tyler enjoys all types of sounds and helping others become creative in their musical endeavors. Receiving a Masters in Music in piano performance and in choral conducting gave a large amount of time with all types of music and in many different settings.  Returning from a choir and pipe organ tour to Germany, Belgium, and Holland, Tyler took the Director of Music Ministries position at First United Methodist Church in Ventura as well as is the Primary Music teacher at C.A.P.E. in Camarillo and is pleased to be working with so many talented individuals of all ages. Tyler looks forward to all types of music making and is excited to share in this fun summer camp with the Camarillo community.

Nayla Reynolds

Music Enrichment Instructor

Nayla earned her BA in Music from Cal State University, Northridge. A long-time educator, Nayla has over 15 years of teaching experience in both private and public schools and she currently teaches music at Mesa Union School. She has taught choir,  piano and her favorite instrument to play is the steel drum! Nayla loves to sing and is very excited to share her passion for music with the kids at Crescendo Summer Music Camp.

Catie Parker

Dance Instructor

Catie Parker (she/her) is a political science and communication student at UCSB and has been dancing for 17 years. She competed with the NPHS Varsity Dance team and won the titles of 2019 WCE National Grand Champion Team and 2018 USA regional dancer of the year. At the 2019 California State Thespian Festival Catie received the titles of Best of Festival, Judges Choice, and Highest Scoring Dance Performance for her self-choreographed Fosse jazz piece.

Chloe Parker

Dance Instructor

Chloe Parker (she/her) graduated from UCSD in 2017 with a degree in Sociology. She danced for 15 years, with an emphasis on ballet and jazz. She was a member of her high school dance team and earned a varsity letter. She also was a volunteer choreographer for Cinemagic for 2 years. 

David Fraley


David Fraley is a pianist and music director in the Greater Los Angeles area. He was piano-conductor of "Big Fish" at Pepperdine (2017), co-music director and piano-conductor of "Sweeney Todd" at Conejo Players Theatre (2019), for which he won Outstanding Musical Direction from Four Star Theater Alliance, and music director and piano-conductor of "Daddy Long Legs" at Conejo Players Theatre (2021). For five years, Fraley has music directed Contempo, the Pepperdine University musical theater ensemble. Aside from the proud work he does as a pianist for local churches and schools, Fraley currently gives private lessons and works as a choral and instrumental coach and accompanist.

Cari Fox

Onsite Coordinator

Cari Fox is the Sunday school Director at Camarillo UMC. She has worked in Christian
Education for over 25 years, and has been the Preschool Director of two different churches. Cari
is a very creative and inspiring teacher, and has a great love of children.

Connie Halpern

Onsite Coordinator

Connie Halpern, also known as Mrs. Figs, is the former owner of The Bookworm bookstore in
Camarillo. She is also a beloved volunteer Sunday school teacher at Camarillo UMC. Her many
gifts include singing in the choir, storytelling, and making everyone feel loved and special.
